The invention provides an application program control system applied to a computing device. A window of a conventional desktop-type application program is displayed on a touch screen by the computing device. The application program control system comprises a series of function modules. Through the function modules, the system defines types of gestures of touching the touch screen by user fingers and sets correlation between different types of gestures as well as touching areas of the gestures on the touch screen and operating commands. When touch information of the user fingers is detected by the touch screen, the system analyzes the touch information, determines the touch areas of the user fingers on the touch screen and the types of the gestures, determines correlated operating commands according to the touching areas, the types of the gestures and the correlation, and executes the correlated operating commands to perform corresponding operations on the window of the conventional desktop-type application program.
