Abstract

The present invention relates to a cap for a container, and more particularly, to a sealing member coupled to an inlet of a container to seal the container. Disclosed are a sealing member that is coupled to an inlet of a container to seal the container, and a cap that is also coupled to the inlet of the container. The cap includes: a main body coupled to the inlet of the container; a pressing plate vertically movable within the main body; one or more cutters disposed on the bottom surface of the pressing plate and arrayed along the circumference of the inlet of the container, wherein the cutters penetrate the sealing member according to pressing of the pressing plate, and cut the sealing member according to rotation of the main body; a catching part protruding downward from the bottom surface of the pressing plate to insert the sealing member cut by the cutters in the main body; and a connecting part connected to an outer circumferential surface of the pressing plate and an inner circumferential surface of the main body, and elastically deformed to allow vertical movement of the pressing plate. The sealing member has a circular plate shape corresponding to the shape of the inlet of the container, and includes: a first cut part in a portion corresponding to the catching part to facilitate the penetration of the catching part; and a second cut part extending along the circumference of the sealing member and disposed in a portion corresponding to the cutters to facilitate the cutting by the cutters.
