[0009] The Karazhanbas Oilfield in the Republic of Kazakhstan (Karazhanbas Oilfield, referred to as KBM) is located on the Buzachi Peninsula on the east coast of the Caspian Sea in the west of Kazakhstan. It is a high-porosity, medium-high permeability heavy oil reservoir. The viscosity of underground crude oil is 240-340mpa.s. The oil layer has good physical properties, and the permeability is 800×10 -3 μm 2 , with a porosity of 30.7%; due to the development of steam injection for more than 20 years, the oil layer structure was destroyed, and the tracer test showed that the channeling velocity of injected water was as high as 2000m / d (converted). The underground deficit is large, and the oil pressure of water injection wells is negative. In May 2013, 5 wells (443, 420, 418, 417, and 367) were selected for profile control. The status of water injection before construction is shown in Table 1.
