Problems solved by technology

Some servers require optical fiber network card interfaces, some servers require RJ-45 network card interfaces, etc., and the quantity requirements are also different, which makes it difficult for the number and type of interfaces configured on the connection board to meet the needs of specific servers, or cause waste of resources
[0007] In addition, the bandwidth of the network card can easily become the bottleneck of bandwidth allocation
Most of the existing equipment can support bandwidth allocation technologies such as differentiated service model and RSVP. However, with the development of cloud computing and other technologies, the demand for bandwidth of computers has increased significantly, and the bandwidth requested by a single server is greater than that of the server network card. When the maximum bandwidth is carried, the network card becomes the bottleneck and cannot be adjusted in real time to meet the needs of users
[0008] It can be seen that in the existing server integration scheme, the network resources required by the server, including network interface resources and bandwidth resources, are managed in a decentralized and independent manner, which increases the maintenance cost of the server and the entire cabinet equipment, and cannot meet the flexible and diverse network requirements of the server. Resource requirements, or causing waste of allocated resources

Abstract

The invention discloses a network resource centralized management method and system. Aiming at one or multiple servers which are arranged in the whole machine cabinet in a centralized way, a network resource allocation module allocates the required network adaption modules for the servers from multiple types of network adaption modules according to network interfaces required by each server. Circuits between bus interfaces of the servers and the allocated network adaption modules are conducted by a control connection module via a logic control circuit according to identification information of the servers so that the servers transmit data to the allocated network adaption modules via the bus interfaces, and the data are transmitted to a switching module to perform data forwarding via the network adaption modules. According to the network resource centralized management method and system, flexible, dynamic and unified allocation and centralized management of network resource required by the servers are realized on the basis of the framework of the whole machine cabinet server system.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the field of computer networks, in particular to a method and system for centralized management of network resources. Background technique [0002] Many enterprises reduce the challenges and costs of decentralized management through physical server consolidation, application or data consolidation. Currently, two solutions are commonly used, rack servers and blade servers. [0003] Rack servers are usually 1U or 2U rack servers that replace "bloated" tower servers to save space and make management easier for administrators. However, each server requires separate equipment, including power cables, Ethernet, system management, power supply, keyboard, video, and mouse interfaces. If a standard 42U high cabinet is filled with 42 1U servers, there will be hundreds of cables all over it. Not only does it make it difficult to quickly troubleshoot problems when they occur, it also makes installing and replacing a server inconvenient....
