The method comprises calculating a packet loss rate of multimedia data in a current cycle according to a data packet, transmitted in the current cycle, of the multimedia data and a response message received; improving acquisition parameters of the multimedia data if the packet loss rate is less than a first predetermined threshold value; reducing the acquisition parameters of the multimedia data if the packet loss rate is greater than a second predetermined threshold value which is greater than the first predetermined threshold value; and obtaining the multimedia data according to the adjusted acquisition parameters of the multimedia data, and transmitting the obtained multimedia data to a receiving terminal. According to the invention, the packet loss rate in the current cycle is calculated, the current state of a network is determined according to the relation between the packet loss rate and the predetermined threshold values, and the acquisition parameters of the multimedia data are improved or reduced in real time to adapt to the current state of the network so as to improve the transmission efficiency of the multimedia data.
