A tube is provided for a respirator system (1) for newborns having: a first section (7), comprising a heating wire (14), an electrical cable (15) and a first (9) and second connecting piece (10); and a second section (8) having a heating wire (16) at least in sections and an electrical cable (17) at least in sections, as well as a first (11) and a second connecting piece (12); wherein the second section (8) has a temperature sensor (18); and wherein the electrical and pneumatic connection of the first section (7) to the second section (8) can be established via the connection of the second connecting piece (10) of the first section (7) to either the first connecting piece (11) of the second section (8), so that the second section (8) can substantially be heated up, or to the second connecting piece (12) of the second section (8),so that the second section (8) can substantially not be heated up.
