Abstract

The invention provides a method and a device for detecting turnover of a number plate on an open road. The method comprises the following steps: calculating checkpoints by which vehicles to be detected sequentially pass in a preset time period; determining whether the checkpoint is communicated or not according to communication information of the checkpoint, and dividing the checkpoint into at least two communication sections if the checkpoint is communicated; acquiring a suspect overturned number plate between adjacent communication sections by adopting track collision and subtraction operation according to information in passing records of vehicles to be detected, vehicle violation condition and checkpoint communication information. According to the method, supervision and monitor on fake plate vehicles using an automatic plate overturning device can be effectively improved, an effective deploy-control strategy can be formed, and the detection efficiency of public security criminal investigators and traffic police can be remarkably improved.
