Abstract

The present invention provides a secondary battery pack comprising: a battery cell in which an electrode assembly having an anode / membrane / cathode structure is sealed, together with an electrolyte, within a battery case, and which has first and second electrode terminals formed on the top surface thereof; an electrically insulating mounting member which has an opening for exposing the first electrode terminal of the battery cell, and is mounted on the top surface of the battery cell; a protection circuit module (PCM) comprising a printed circuit board (PCB) which has a protection circuit and is mounted on the mounting member, a connecting member (A) which is connected to the first electrode terminal, and a connecting member (B) which is connected to the second electrode terminal via a safety device, the PCM having a through hole in the PCB, for exposing the connecting member (B); and an insulating cap which is coupled to the top part of the battery cell while enclosing the insulating mounting member, with the connecting members and the PCB mounted. The secondary battery pack is characterized in that the total height of the PCM and the insulating cap is 3.0 mm or less.
