Abstract

A distance measuring sensor for mounting on a vehicle has an ultrasound sensing unit 21, a microwave sensing unit 22, a controller 24 and an alarm 23. If the controller receives a sensing signal from either the ultrasound unit or the microwave unit, the controller outputs an alarm signal to alert the driver.
