The underwater cable body is provided with fragile points and repair material bags, the repair material bags are positioned at the fragile points and comprise welding materials and wrapping layers, and the fragile points, the welding materials and the wrapping layers are sequentially arranged at fragile point setting positions in the radial direction of the underwater cable body from the inside to the outside; the welding materials can be melted and connected with the fragile points when the fragile points are broken. The self-repair underwater cable has the advantages that the fragile points are arranged on the traditional underwater cable body, the repair material bags are arranged at the fragile points, resistance of the fragile points is increased after the fragile points are broken, heat can be generated owing to increase of the resistance, accordingly, the welding materials can be melted, and the fragile points can be connected with the welding materials and can be repaired; cooling effects can be realized by water, accordingly, a melting and then shaping mode is applicable to the underwater cable, the self-repair underwater cable can be prevented from being broken, electric power supply or signal communication can be maintained, and the work stability of the traditional underwater cable can be improved.
