The method comprises the following steps: constructing a framework model of a steel truss arch bridge according to two-dimensional drawing of the steel truss arch bridge; setting basic parts of the steel truss arch bridge in a layered mode by adopting a pre-constructed BIM knowledge base and tree structures, wherein the basic parts comprise parts used by a main arch ring of the steel truss arch bridge, parts used for an upright post on the arch of the steel truss arch bridge, and parts used by juncture piers, approach bridges and arch seats of the steel truss arch bridge; and constructing association between the parts by virtue of functional parameters of the various parts, thereby obtaining a BIM model.
