The method comprises the following steps of monitoring whether a proximity incident occurs to each proximity sensor, if the proximity incident occurs, counting the serial number of the proximity sensor to which the proximity incident occurs in a preset time threshold; generating a code according to the serial number and the proximity incident occurrence sequence of the proximity sensor; and generating a control instruction of the mobile terminal according to the code. According to the method, the code is generated according to the serial number and sequence of the proximity sensor to which the proximity incident occurs. By virtue of the matching analysis of the code and a preset code or a preset code table, a trigger operation is performed, and the control instruction of the mobile terminal is generated, so that the mobile terminal carries out the corresponding response motion. A mechanical and physical key is not adopted by the application method and the application system, the application method and the application system are capable of effectively decreasing wastage generated due to the abrasion of the key, and simply imitating the sliding operation.
