Problems solved by technology

This solution presents the following disadvantages: bacterial bands are formed between the color ring and the instrument, the ring-instrument connection is not airtight;
[0037] In order to count or check the contents of the sterilization basket, the instruments must be identified one by one, which takes a lot of time
The prior art does not provide any solution for multiple, automatic and high-volume identification of marked devices in a metallic environment without any modification of the device, nor does it provide any hygienic, universal marking solution ( Examples of metal sterilization baskets: http: / / www.aesculap.extranet.bbraun.com / public / frame_doc_index.html?medid=100051310; and http: / / www.sterilmed.fr / avec-filliqrane / sterilmed-02-paniers-et-accessoires-201 2.pdf )

Embodiment Construction

[0063] figure 1 and 2 represents a radio frequency identification capsule 1 (RFID capsule) according to the invention comprising a Figure 6 and 7 ) on a metal base (or support) 3 and a housing 7, preferably made of polyether ether ketone (PEEK), capable of holding a radio frequency tag (RFID tag) 9. The housing 7 is fixed to the base and is overmolded on the base 3 to form a permanent airtight seal with the base 3 .

[0064] The base is for example made of stainless steel (316L stainless steel), the housing 7 can be made of glass fiber or carbon fiber reinforced polyetheretherketone (PEEK), PEEK embodiments can be manufactured in different colours.

[0065] The radio frequency identification capsule 1 also comprises means 11 for maintaining the radio frequency tag 9 at a fixed distance d from the base 3 ( Figure 4 ), the distance d is the shortest distance between the base 3 and the radio frequency tag 9 .

[0066] The means 11 for keeping the radio frequency tag 9 at ...

Abstract

The invention relates to a radio frequency identification capsule for marking an object. The capsule is characterised in that it comprises: a metal base to be attached to the object; a receiving element for holding a radio tag, the receiving element being secured to the base and overmoulded on the base in order to form a durably tight joint with the base; and means for holding the radio tag at a determined distance from the base. The invention allows an automatic inventory of a plurality of marked objects randomly arranged in a highly metal medium and in the presence of Faraday cages.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates generally to radio frequency identification (RFID) capsules for the marking of objects, and more particularly to the RFID marking of reusable medical devices and their high-volume, automatic and multiple identification in a heavily metallic environment . The invention is also applicable to other objects such as dental instruments, implants, implant replacements, prostheses, tools, industrial, computer-related, railway-related, automotive, marine and aviation components and spare parts and any other similar object that wishes to be marked to ensure its identification and its traceability. Background technique [0002] Traceability of the reprocessing process for reusable medical devices enables to ensure that the devices are properly reprocessed, that is: sterilized, washed, cleaned, dried, inspected, packaged, and sterilized before being reused on a patient. The purpose of this process is to avoid the transmission of inf...
