[0107] The 95% ethanol (EtOH) extract from the root of Rabbittail Grass (UC) was extracted and chromatographed using biological grade methods. 95% ethanol crude extract was suspended in H 2 O and divided sequentially with n-hexane, ethyl acetate and n-butanol to obtain 4 fractions. The cell proliferation of the crude extract in Hob cells was evaluated by MTT method. The results showed that none of the crude extracts were found to cause significant cytotoxicity or proliferation of HOb cells at concentrations of 100 μg / ml or below (data not shown). ALP activity is the main marker of osteoblast differentiation. The effect of the extract on osteoblast differentiation was detected by measuring the ALP activity of HOb cells.
