The locking device comprises an installing shell, a micro motor, a proximity switch, a fixed tooth disc, a threaded rod and a movable tooth disc, wherein the micro motor is fixed to the installing shell and used for providing locking torque; the proximity switch is used for providing locking in-position signals and unlocking in-position signals; the fixed tooth disc and a reduction gear are coaxially installed; the threaded rod is coaxially connected with the micro motor; the movable tooth disc is driven through the threaded rod. According to the self-locking electric steering engine, the locking device is designed to be in the primary stage of a transmission mechanism of the electric steering engine through middle gears; under the amplification action of the reduction ratio of the reducer to torque, large locking torque can be provided; meanwhile, after the steering engine is unlocked, additional inertial influences of the locking device on the motor are small, and therefore the self-locking electric steering engine is high in reliability and practicability.
