Abstract

A composite packing zone in the eco-biofilter housing is filled with attapulgite clay ceramsite and a bamboo wool packing. Mass ratio of the attapulgite clay ceramsite to the bamboo wool packing is (1-3):1. Crops are planted on the composite packing zone. The attapulgite clay ceramsite is prepared from, by weight, 50-60% of attapulgite clay, 20-25% of flour and 15-30% of iron filings. Two packings are used to form the composite packing, thus being beneficial to form a more complex ecological system and a more stable ecological chain. The eco-biofilter apparatus is applicable to a single family or several neighbor families. Treatment effect is guaranteed under the condition of low temperature. By combining respective advantages of a biological aerated filter, crops and the composite packing, the purification effect is good, and multiple pollutants can be removed simultaneously. In addition, particle size of the composite packing is large, thus avoiding the back-wash process.
