The liquid crystal screen backlight control device mainly comprises the components of a frame rate conversion (FRC) chip, the MCU chip which is connected with the FRC chip, and a backlight driving chip which is connected with the MCU chip. The operation process of the liquid crystal screen backlight control device comprises the steps of calculating brightness data of N image sub-areas of a current image frame, converting the brightness data of the N image sub-areas to backlight values of N backlight sub-areas and transmitting the backlight values to the MCU chip; dividing N backlight sub-areas into M backlight areas, searching the gain value which corresponds with each backlight area according to the average value of the backlight values of the backlight sub-areas contained in each backlight area and a preset gain curve, and adjusting the backlight values of the N backlight sub-areas by means of the searched M gain values. Therefore the liquid crystal screen backlight control device, the liquid crystal television and the MCU chip have advantages of searching different gain values for different backlight areas, realizing different-degree light modulation control on the backlight sub-areas, and improving brightness contrast of video data in a displaying process and improving gradation of a displayed picture.
