Abstract

The controlled startup of equipment is based on dynamic statistical predictions. Timely activation of onboard associated vehicle equipment is based on dynamic statistical predictions and driver proximity to the vehicle. The means for just-in-time activation includes an interface operatively coupled to the power consuming device and control logic coupled to the interface. The control logic is operable in a first mode to perform processing for determining the presence of a first condition of the vehicle, and selectively activating, via the interface, a power consuming device of the vehicle in response to determining the presence of the first condition. The control logic is operable in a second mode to suspend, via the interface, processing for determining the presence of the first condition of the vehicle. Control logic selectively switches between the first and second modes over time based on stochastic modeling of the presence of the first condition.
