Abstract

The application discloses a Media Access Control (MAC) address information synchronization method and device based on a Virtual eXtensible Local Area Network (VXLAN), wherein the method is applied to a VXLAN Tunnel End Point (VTEP) in the CAS CXLAN. The method includes the steps of: after any Virtual Machine (VM) is detected to be connected with the device, adding a local MAC item corresponding to MAC address information of the VM in an MAC address table; carrying the MAC address information in all of the local MAC items of the MAC address table, belonging to the same VXLAN, in a Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) message, and after the LLDP message is packaged into a VXLAN message, sending the VXLAN message to the VTEP at an opposite end through a VXLAN tunnel associated with the VXLAN; and de-packaging the VXLAN message after the VXLAN message sent by the VTEP at the opposite end is received, obtaining the LLDP message, and updating the MAC address table according to the MAC address information carried in the LLDP message.
