The monitoring method comprises the following steps of obtaining pressure measuring data of the brake cylinders in the braking process under the normal working condition to form a training data set; calculating variable between-psu variance of each sample in the training data set and determining the threshold of the variable between-psu variance; acquiring the pressure measuring data of each brake cylinder at current time in real time to be used as a test sample, and judging whether the test sample fails or not by using the threshold of the variable between-psu variance; and if yes, sequentially obtaining the restructured contribution value of the pressure measuring data of each brake cylinder in the test sample, and determining the brake cylinder of the maximum restructured contribution value to be the failing brake cylinder. According to the method, failures can be timely detected and separated, and the failing brake cylinder or a pipeline where the failing brake cylinder is arranged can be indicated, so that predication of a major failure can be realized, and the method provides a certain reference for the timely maintenance and replacement for components; therefore, the generation of even more serious failures can be effectively avoided.
