The method comprises following steps: acquiring original an image; performing filtering to the original image according to the pixel position information and pixel gray level information of the original image to generate a filtered image; performing enhancement processing to the filtered image according to local pixel information and integral pixel information of the filtered image to generate an enhanced image; generating a gradient-like image according to the enhanced image; and generating a binary image by performing binary processing to the gradient-like image. By means of the method, due to the above preprocessing operation to the original image, the definition and contrast degree of text information contained in the original image is enhanced when restraining image noise; and therefore, image recognition can be performed to the text information contained in the binary image after preprocessing and recognition accuracy is increased.
