Abstract

The present invention relates to reflective encoding system and encoding method thereof. The reflective encoding system includes a reflective encoder, a distance measuring sensor and a signal processing unit. The reflective encoder includes at least one encoding reflective sheet, two terminal identification reflective sheets and a background reflective sheet. At least one code reflection sheet has a reflection surface and a back surface, the back surface is opposite to the reflection surface. The two terminal identification reflective sheets are arranged on both sides of at least one code reflective sheet respectively, and the background reflective sheet is arranged on the back side of the at least one code reflective sheet. The ranging sensor transmits a ranging signal to the reflective surface of at least one encoding reflective sheet, and receives the ranging signal reflected by the reflecting surface, so as to obtain distance information from the ranging sensor to the at least one encoding reflective sheet. The signal processing unit is connected with the ranging sensor to convert the distance information into a slope information, and output a coded value according to the slope information. In this way, the amount of sensors used can be greatly reduced and the probability of sensor abnormalities can be reduced, and the size of the encoding system can be reduced.
