The disclosed embodiments can detect moving objects and track moving objects in real time. Additionally, the disclosed systems and methods may enable simultaneous monitoring of a particular area in an environment and detection and tracking of moving objects within that area. Abstract

An apparatus and method for detecting an object are provided. The apparatus may include: a memory configured to store instructions; and a processor configured to execute the instructions to obtain image data of a region of interest contained in an image frame. The processor is also configured to compare the image data of the region of interest with the image data of a background to detect changes in the region of interest. The processor is also configured to detect an object in the image frame based on the detected change.
