The elevator car falling automatic detecting and braking device comprises speed measuring racks, brake shells, speed measuring gears, transition speed regulating gears, power generators, control circuit boards and braking assemblies. The speed measuring racks are fixed to the end faces of elevator car guide rails; the speed measuring gears, the transition speed regulating gears, the power generators, the control circuit boards and the braking assemblies are arranged in the brake shells; the speed measuring racks, the speed measuring gears, the transition speed regulating gears and the power generators are engaged in sequence; the power generators and the braking assemblies are electrically connected with the control circuit boards; and the two braking assemblies are matched with the two side surfaces of the elevator car guide rails correspondingly. By means of the elevator car system and the elevator car falling automatic detecting and braking device thereof, the operation speed of an elevator can be accurately sensed, moreover, an external power supply is not needed, and the reliability is extremely high.
