Multidimensional temporal data can provide insights into patterns, trends, and correlations. Traditional 2D charts are widely used to support the work of domain analysts, but are limited to visually represent large-scale complex data and do not allow further exploration to gain insights. A visual analysis system and method that support interactive analysis of multi-dimensional temporal data incorporating ideas of a novel visualization method are provided. The system extends the capabilities of mapping techniques by visualizing domain data based on 3D geometric structures enhanced by color, motion and sound. This allows for a concise global overview of large-scale data and drill-down for further exploration. With customizable visualizations, it can be adapted to different data models and applied to multiple domains. This helps analysts interact directly with large-scale data, gain insight into the data, and make better decisions.
