Abstract

Methods and systems are provided for noise removal of photoplethysmography signals. Methods and systems are disclosed for noise removal of a photoplethysmography signal for estimating a user's blood pressure; wherein the photoplethysmographic signal is extracted from the user; the extracted photoplethysmographic signal is upsampled; the upsampled The photoplethysmographic signal is filtered; non-uniform baseline drift per cycle is removed from the upsampled and filtered photoplethysmographic signal; outlier cycles of the photoplethysmographic signal are removed and the photoplethysmographic The remaining period of the map signal is modeled; and temporal features are extracted from the original extracted photoplethysmogram signal and the modeled photoplethysmographic signal for estimating the user's blood pressure.

Description

[0001] priority claim [0002] This application claims priority from Indian Application No. 1684 / MUM / 2015 filed 27 April 2015, the entire contents of which are hereby incorporated by reference. technical field [0003] The present application relates generally to biomedical signal processing, and more particularly to methods and systems for noise removal of photoplethysmography (PPG) signals captured using mobile communication devices. Background technique [0004] The recent past has witnessed a tremendous growth in communication technology worldwide. As a result, communication devices have begun to replace manual human labor on a large scale. In particular, communication devices such as smart phones and applications for physiological sensing embedded therein are rapidly becoming popular in both developed and developing countries. Smartphone-based physiological sensing applications provide the elderly as well as the young with the opportunity to routinely detect numerous...
