Abstract

The invention relates to a high-temperature superconducting tape current carrying capability test apparatus and an application method thereof. The apparatus comprises two binding posts, an insulating cover plate, a removable housing and a current-carrying platform and two cooling conducting parts arranged inside the housing, wherein the binding posts extend through the insulating cover plate. Each cooling conductive portion includes a heat exchange heavy current lead wire assembly and a superconducting current lead assembly which are electrically connected; the heat exchange heavy current lead wire assembly includes an insulated storage tank, a cooling storage tank and a large current lead wire portion which are sequentially connected; the large current lead wire portion is connected to one binding post; the cooling storage tank is communicated with a gas output channel arranged in the binding post; the superconducting current lead assembly comprises a first heat exchange seat, a superconducting tape and a second heat exchange seat which are sequentially in electrical connection; and the current-carrying platform comprises an insulated panel, a first conductive member provided with a heater, a second conductive member provided with a temperature sensor and a cooling portion. The first conductive member and the second conductive member are respectively in electrical connection with second heat exchange seats. The apparatus can measure the current carrying capability of high temperature superconductive tapes at different temperatures.
