Embodiments of the invention provide a cooling liquid leak detection device and a battery system. The cooling liquid leak detection device is applied to a battery pack. The battery pack comprises a plurality of battery modules and liquid cooling modules which are arranged together with the battery modules to be used for heating or cooling the battery modules. The liquid cooling modules include cooling liquid leakiness points. The device comprises moisture absorption modules used for absorbing cooling liquid leaked at the cooling liquid leakiness points, moisture detectors used for obtaining humidity of the moisture absorption modules, a processing controller and an alarm unit. The moisture absorption modules wrap the cooling liquid leakiness points, and the moisture detectors are arranged in the moisture absorption modules. The processing controller is connected to the moisture detectors and the alarm unit and is used for receiving the humidity of the moisture absorption modules from the moisture detectors, and the processing controller controls the alarm unit to give an alarm when the humidity of the moisture absorption modules is greater than preset humidity.
