Internet robot detection for network distributable markup

Embodiments of the present invention provide a method, system and computer program product for bot detection for network distributable markup. In accordance with an embodiment of the present invention, a page request for distributed markup can be processed to incorporate embedded fragment within the requested page. For instance, the fragment can include a script enabled to detect human activity within the requested page such as a mouse movement. Alternatively, the fragment can include an extraneous markup artifact. The requested page subsequently can be returned to the requestor and the embedded fragment can be monitored to detect the presence of a bot depending upon the activation of the artifact. For example, where human activity can be detected within the page or where the extraneous markup artifact becomes activated despite the extraneous nature of the artifact, a human requestor can be concluded. However, where no human activity is detected in the requested page, or where the extraneous markup artifact remains unactivated, a bot requestor can be determined.

Wireless inductive power transfer

A wireless power transfer system includes a power transmitter (101) providing power to a power receiver (105) via an inductive power signal. The power transmitter (101) and receiver (105) can operate in different modes including a test mode and a power transfer mode. Operating parameters of the power receiver (105) are constrained in the test mode relative (and specifically the loading). A foreign object detector (209) generates a foreign object detection estimate from a comparison of a measured load to an expected load of the inductive power signal when the power receiver is operating in the test mode. A controller (211) enters the power transmitter (101) and receiver (103) into the power transfer mode when the foreign object detection estimate is indicative of no detection of a foreign object. In the power transfer mode, a parasitic power loss detector (207) generates a parasitic power loss detection for the power transfer if a parasitic power loss estimate is outside a range.

Method and Apparatus for Controlling Laser Transmissions for Enhanced Safety

According to a present invention embodiment, safety is enhanced for a non-eye-safe limited-range laser sensing system. The laser sensing system typically has an operating range limited to a well-defined spatial interval. A range measurement is utilized to control emissions of the non-eye-safe laser. In particular, when the range to a target is outside the designed spatial interval defining the operating range of the laser sensing system, transmission of the non-eye-safe laser beam is disabled or rendered non-hazardous. In other words, the transmission of the non-eye-safe laser beam is disabled in response to no detection of a hard target within the operating range of the laser sensing system, or when an object is detected between the laser sensing system and the spatial interval that defines the operating range. The target distance may be tracked to change the location (and possibly, width) of the adaptive spatial interval defining the operating range.

Abnormal condition detection apparatus

A plurality of result signals are driven low when abnormal condition is detected and driven high when no abnormal condition is detected. Presence and absence of the abnormal conditions of different types are indicated in a predetermined sequence by high and low signal levels of the result signals. The voltage detecting circuits simultaneously output the result signals on corresponding branching lines connected to a main line of a communication line. An OR gate outputs a result signal on which the result signals output by the voltage detecting circuits are superimposed. When at least one of the result signals of the voltage detecting circuits is at a level indicative of the presence of the abnormal condition, the OR gate outputs on the main line the result signal having the level indicative of the abnormal condition.

Method for RF card detection in a contactless system

A method and processor-readable storage medium for performing the method of identifying RF cards in a card reader's field. Polling requests are sent to cards in a card reader's field. Where a clear response from the sent command is received from a responding card, the response is saved, the responding card moved to an Active state, and the timeslot number incremented if possible and the above steps repeated until no clear response is received. Where no clear response is received, a determination of whether a collision has occurred is made. If no collision occurred, the timeslot number is incremented; if a collision did occur, another polling request is sent. Discovered cards are returned when no cards or collisions are detected after every timeslot is polled.

Under a predetermined condition after no synchronization signals from an input signal have been detected in predetermined detection periods and the interpolation of synchronization signals has been started, the judgment about whether each of the synchronization signals detected from the input signal continuously is detected at normal timing or not is performed. Then, according to the judgment result, the resynchronization operation of the synchronization signals detected from the input signal and reproducing synchronization signals is performed. Thereby, the state in which the synchronization signals having different timing from originally expected timing are used owing to the interpolation of synchronization signals can be immediately dissolved.

Alerting a driver to the presence of a pedestrian on a road

System and method alerting drivers approaching a pedestrian crossing and notifying them of the presence of a pedestrian on the pedestrian crossing or any other accidents-prone road sections. By this, an additional traffic safety measure is provided. The presence of the pedestrian crossing marking is not always sufficient. Thus, the proposed system and method are also directed at providing a forgiving infrastructure for both inattentive drivers and jaywalking pedestrians. The system and method utilize movement and weight sensors to detect a movement upon a pedestrian crossing and its vicinity. After negating a possibility that this movement is caused by a passing vehicle, the system invokes illuminating indicators directed at approaching drivers, alerting them to the presence of a pedestrian on the pedestrian crossing. The system may be calibrated to optimize the detection rate, minimizing false alarm and no detection.
