Abstract

A wearable computing device is fastened or attached to an elastic band sized to fit around at least a portion of the circumference of a human head. The device has a waterproof storage body that houses multiple sensors. The wearable computing device can calculate a plurality of swimming metrics based at least in part on data received from at least one sensor. The wearable computing device can include a wireless communication subsystem secured to an elastic strip within the waterproof storage body, and at least one of the calculated swimming metrics can be communicated to at least one computing device via the wireless communication subsystem . The wearable computing device can include at least one user output component, and can present an indication of the calculated at least one swim metric of the plurality of swim metrics at the at least one user output component for communication to the user. This indication could be audio played in headphones connected to the strip, or it could be displayed visually on a display in the eye visor portion of the strip.
