Problems solved by technology

[0007] The disadvantage of dynamic embedded anchors will be manifested in cases where the damage in the rock cavity reaches the area between the anchors, since in this case there is no counter force to hold the rock in place

Embodiment Construction

[0026] Figure 1 shows a rock bolt 1 according to the invention intended to be embedded in a borehole 2 in rock. The rock bolt 1 comprises an extended outer tubular member 3 and an extended inner energy absorbing member 4 . In a preferred embodiment, the length of the outer part 3 is given to be slightly smaller than the length of the energy absorbing part 4 . The outer tubular part 3 has a first end 5 and a second end 6 and the dimensions of the outer tubular part 3 allow the energy absorbing part 4 to be surrounded by the outer part 3 . Advantageously the outer part 3 has a circular cross-section in the form of a circularly symmetrical metal tube, but it will be appreciated that other forms and other materials are possible. For example square, oval or rectangular tubes made of metal, plastic or composite materials can be used. Other forms of outer tubular member 3 may also be used.

[0027] As shown in FIGS. 6 a to 6 c , the casing 7 of the outer tubular part 3 is provided...

Abstract

The present invention concerns a rock bolt (1) to be embedded in a borehole (2), comprising an extended energy-absorbing part (4), the first end (11) of the energy-absorbing part (4) comprising an anchor (12) and the second end (15) of the energy-absorbing part (4) comprising a screw joint (16) for prestressing of the rock bolt (1). The rock bolt (1) comprises an extended tubular part (3) with a jacket (7) and a first end section (5) and a second end section (6), with an internal dimension that is larger than the external dimension of the energy-absorbing part (4) and arranged in such a manner that it surrounds the energy- absorbing part (4). The invention concerns also a method for the manufacture of such a rock bolt.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to rock bolts for absorbing forces during consolidation of rock cavities in mines and during rock-like operations. Background technique [0002] Mines are built deeper and deeper in the world to obtain minerals. This results in increased rock tension and increased risk of seismicity. With increasing depth, in areas with large deformations, reinforcement capable of absorbing energy is used, also known as "dynamic reinforcement". [0003] There are two main different types of energy absorbing anchors. In a variant, the absorption of energy takes place by friction between the bolt and the grout or between the bolt and the borehole. The anchor slides and absorbs energy. [0004] The second method is to deform or strain the anchor. If the degree of strain is large, the energy absorption is also large. The greater the degree of strain, the greater the energy absorption. [0005] In order to achieve the greatest possible d...
