Problems solved by technology

When the channel conditions are good (such as high signal-to-noise ratio or high degree of sub-channel polarization), it is still necessary to split a new decoding path when judging each bit, and the complexity of the serial offset list decoding method is still high

Abstract

The invention discloses a polarization decoding method for reducing decoding path splitting. When bit decision making is carried out, the log-likelihood ratio of the bit expresses a confidence coefficient; and when the confidence coefficient of the bit reaches a certain threshold, no new decoding path needs to be formed by splitting, so that the number of to-be-selected decoding paths in the list can be reduced and thus the decoding complexity can be reduced. During the decoding process, a decoding path splitting strategy is determined by determining whether the decoding confidence coefficient exceeds threshold value and determining the type of a decoding node. Because the confidence coefficient threshold value can be stored into a table for follow-up checking after one-time calculation, no extra computing complexity is increased when a decoder carries out decoding in real time. According to the method disclosed by the invention, no new decoding path is split while the bit confidence coefficient is high but the error rate performance is not affected. The method can adapt to a channel noise condition adaptively; and the higher the signal to noise ration, the better the decoder performance gain.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention belongs to the technical field of channel coding and decoding in a communication system, and in particular relates to an improved decoding method of a polar code based on a serial cancellation list in a channel decoder of a communication system. Background technique [0002] Polar code is a new type of coding method. It is currently the only channel coding technology that can theoretically prove that it can reach the Shannon limit under binary discrete memoryless channels, and has practical linear complexity coding and decoding capabilities. It will become the next generation communication system (5G ) are strong candidates for channel coding schemes. When the code length of the polar code tends to be infinite, the channel capacity can be approached infinitely by adopting a low-complexity Serial Cancellation (SC, Successive Cancellation) decoding method. Polar codes have excellent performance in long codes, but need to use Serial Cancell...
