The method comprises steps as follows: receiving a resource consumption inquiry request which carries the quantity of to-be-processed tasks; determining grades of available resource quantities matched with the quantity of the to-be-processed tasks in a plurality of resource grades divided on the basis of extra resource consumption in advance; determining the estimated newly increased resource quantity of each grade; determining the total quantity of the estimated resources of each grade according to the estimated newly increased resource quantity; determining the grade matched with the quantity of the to-be-processed tasks according to the total quantity of the estimated resources and feeding back an inquiry result, that is, the resource consumption corresponding to each grade. By means of the resource inquiry method and device, the inquiry result fed back by a resource platform is closer to the practical extra resource consumption.
