Embodiment Construction

[0054] The method described in our invention is a batch method for remediation of soils and sediments contaminated with toxic metals selected from the group consisting of Pb, Zn, Cd, Cu, Hg, Ni, Mo, Tl, Cr, U , Cs, Sr group. The method described in our invention may also enable the cleaning of fines (mainly composed of humus) obtained after physical separation of fines by means of hydrocyclones or flotation from less polluted bulky soils and sediments. , other organic matter, clay and sediment) the contaminated part. The above methods are also suitable for remediating fertile and nutrient-rich contaminated garden soil. Process equipment used in our innovations; i.e. wet screens, trommelscreens, screens, reactors, vessels, columns, stack systems, filter presses, filtration systems and other liquid / solid separators, storage tanks, pumps , conveyors, and other devices that will be familiar to those skilled in the art.

Abstract

The present invention relates to soil and sediment remediation. The present invention discloses a batch method for remediation of soil / sediments contaminated with toxic metals selected from the group consisting of Pb, Zn, Cd, Cu, Hg, Ni, Mo, Tl, Cr in a serial batch process , U, Cs and Sr group. In the method of the present invention, toxic metals are removed from the treatment solution by alkaline adsorption of polysaccharide adsorbents in addition to alkaline precipitation of toxic metal hydroxides. By applying alkaline adsorption, the efficiency of acidic and alkaline recycle for removal of toxic metals and chelating agent, ie EDTA, from the treatment solution is significantly improved.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a batch process for the remediation of soils and sediments contaminated with toxic metals. The above methods may include the steps of treating the contaminated soil and sediment with a solution containing an aminopolycarboxylate chelating agent such as ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA), washing the soil / sediment solid phase to remove mobile (loose , mobilized) residues of toxic metals, treatment of spent treatment water to recover chelating agents and clean treatment solutions, and placement of remediated soil / sediment on a permeable horizontal reactive barrier to keep contaminants out emissions. Background technique [0002] The methods described in the present invention "Soil and sediment remediation" include those described in the patent application "Washing of contaminated soils", International Application No. PCT / SI2012 / 000039. [0003] Current methods of using EDTA to remediate soils and sediments contamina...
