Abstract

The invention relates to a current transformer with a self-calibration function and a self-calibration method thereof. The current transformer comprises an iron core, a primary side winding coil, a secondary side winding coil, a switch and a resistor, wherein the secondary side winding coil consists of dual windings; the dual secondary windings are wound in parallel in an interpenetrating manner, with consistent number of turns and coil diameters; the switch is connected with the dual secondary windings in parallel; the resistor is connected with the switch in series, and the resistor is a non-inductive resistor for wire winding; and the resistance value of the resistor is equal to that of the shunt-wound dual secondary windings. The self-calibration method of the current transformer comprises the steps as follows: the switch of the current transformer is disconnected to ensure that the dual secondary windings are disconnected from each other; any one of the dual secondary windings is selected to be connected with a strong current generator while the other winding is connected with a current transformer calibrator; the two secondary windings have the same number of turns, so that a self-calibration mode with a current ratio of 1 to 1 is formed; and the error level of the current transformer is determined according to the reading number of the calibrator.
