Embodiment Construction

[0044] Referring now to the drawings, there is provided a method and system for controlling a pet's approach to various locations and / or objects, and more particularly as Figure 1-4 In the preferred embodiment depicted in , an automated system is provided that allows identified and authorized pets access to various locations and / or objects such as food contained within a feeding tray, for example. Unauthorized pets cause the device to close or not open, preventing unauthorized access to the device. The panel door construction has interlocking and overlapping panels that move from a position under the bowl to the front of the bowl, and when closed, move over the bowl and toward the rear of the feeder to securely separate food from unused Permitted pets segregated. Additionally, if the door panel incorporates gear teeth, the door system is driven through a gear drive system such that the door panel is directly driven and logically controlled where the system can react to the p...

Abstract

A method and system is provided that controls pet access to various different locations and / or objects. In a preferred embodiment, the present invention provides an automated system whereby pets are identified by sensors and allowed access to various locations and / or objects, such as food contained within a feeder dish for example. The feeder further includes a door structure and control system that keeps the pet safe through the use of a door which is made up of several repeated panels which together move to cover the food when access is not allowed and having a jam sensing system in order to protect pets from being caught in the closing door. Further embodiments employ the system to control access to litter boxes, pet toys, pet watering systems, pet gate access, pet containment systems or pet doors.

Description
