Abstract

The invention discloses a convex hull analysis-based shielded vehicle detection method and system. The method is implemented by comprising the steps of extracting a vehicle foreground region of a to-be-detected image containing a vehicle; marking a profile and a convex hull of the vehicle foreground region; performing subtraction on the convex hull and the vehicle foreground region to obtain a convex difference region of the vehicle; if a ratio of the area of the convex difference region of the vehicle to the area of the convex hull is greater than a threshold, determining that the vehicle is shielded; and when the vehicle is shielded, obtaining a segmentation line by utilizing the convex hull and the convex difference region, and separating the shielded vehicle from an unshielded vehicle through the segmentation line. According to the method and the system, the shielding detection of the vehicle in the image is realized, and a possibly existent false detection result is corrected by utilizing the convex hull and a convex difference, so that the accuracy and stability of detection are improved.
