Abstract

In a conventional calcium ammonium nitrate production process, the chosen material contains impurities, such as iron ions, which cannot be removed by regulating pH value in the process of reaction, causing the color of calcium ammonium nitrate product to become yellow and dark, and as a result, the appearance quality of the product is severely affected. At present, related reports and methods for solving the problem do not exist yet. The invention improves the conventional process, adding chelating agent with high chelating capability on impurities (such as iron ions) in the process of reaction, so that all the iron ions in solution are formed into chelated ions with high solubility, and ultimately, in the process of concentration and granulation, the impurity ions cannot be precipitated out along with the calcium ammonium nitrate product.
