Abstract

The embodiment of the invention provides a banknote authenticity verifying method and a mobile terminal. The method is applied to the mobile terminal which is provided with a molecular sensor. The method comprises the steps that the image data of a banknote are collected; a detection area is loaded in the image data, and a detection point is in the detection area; the area in which a specified number is located is identified in the detection area, and is used as an ink area; if the detection point is located in the ink area, the molecular sensor is driven to transmit near-infrared light toward the ink area along the detection point; the molecular sensor receives the ink characteristic light reflected by the ink area for the near-infrared light; an ink infrared spectrum is drawn by using the ink characteristic light; and the authenticity of the banknote is verified based on the ink infrared spectrum. According to the embodiment of the invention, the molecular characteristics of the banknote ink are detected by the molecular sensor, so as to accurately verify the authenticity of the banknote.
