The method comprises the steps of receiving a data writing request of writing data to a storage medium; allocating a storage pool to the data writing request, and allocating a cache object to the data writing request in the storage pool; reading object parameters of the cache object corresponding to the data writing request; and performing writing operation for the data writing request in a cache storage directory contained in the object parameters, and updating index entries, in a preset index, of to-be-written datacarried by the data writing request. The software storage system-based data writing method is suitable for storage mediums of physical machines with different configurations, can perform combination management on storage regions in the storage mediums, and has relatively great performance advantage; and in addition, the method can adapt to quick iterative updating of the storage mediums and has relatively high adaptability.
