A driving method for a liquid crystal display. The method comprises: converting, into a second picture signal comprising a gain, a first picture signal input into a liquid crystal display, and obtaining, according to the second picture signal, a brightness gain of each pixel point in a picture displayed by the liquid crystal display, so as to obtain a brightness gain matrix (S101); calculating, according to a pre-set color cast threshold, a color cast threshold gain corresponding to the pre-set color cast threshold (S102); calculating, according to a pre-set high-brightness threshold, a high-brightness threshold gain corresponding to the pre-set high-brightness threshold (S103); correcting the brightness gain matrix according to the color cast threshold gain and the high-brightness threshold gain (S104); and driving the liquid crystal display according to the corrected brightness gain matrix (S105).
