The invention relates to a cloud monitoring system, comprising a monitoring terminal, a data gateway, a configuration center, an operation center, a database and an alarm system, wherein the monitoring terminal is used to acquire raw data of a monitoring site as well as process and forward the data; the data gateway is used to distribute strategies and the data; the configuration center is used togenerate the strategies; the operation center is used to perform multi-terminal aggregation operation on filtering data according to an aggregation strategy; the database is used to store the raw data sent by the monitoring terminal through the data gateway; and the alarm system is used to parse event data sent by the monitoring terminal through the data gateway and process the event data. The invention also provides a control method of the cloud monitoring system. According to the cloud monitoring system and the control method thereof provided by the invention, the computation pressure of the operation center can be dispersed, and the overall operational analysis ability of the monitoring system can be enhanced.
