The method is applied to the CEPH distributed storage system and comprises the steps that a request of to-be-written data is received in real time; according to log records of all the to-be-written data, whether hot data exists in all the to-be-written data is judged; if yes, the hot data is allocated to a hot data storage medium for writing and storage; and if not, the to-be-written data is allocated to a cold data storage medium for writing and storage. By the adoption of the data storage method, on the basis of guaranteeing the performance of the whole system, energy consumption is lowered to a great extent. The invention furthermore provides a device for storing data in the storage system, equipment and a computer readable storage medium. The device, the equipment and the computer readable storage medium have the same advantages as the method.
