Abstract

The invention provides a system and method for simply controlling hard disk indicator lamps. The system comprises a server main board and an SATA-NVME hard disk back plate or SAS-NVME hard disk back plate. A logic controller, an SAS controller, an NVME controller and an SATA controller are arranged on the server main board. The logic controller judges the type of a hard disk connected with a harddisk interface. When the hard disk is an SATA hard disk, SGPIO signals sent by the SATA controller are analyzed, and the first hard disk state indicator lamp is controlled; when the hard disk is an NVME hard disk, I2C signals sent by the NVME controller are analyzed, and the first hard disk state indicator lamp is controlled; when the hard disk is an SAS hard disk, SGPIO signals sent by the SAS controller are analyzed, and the second hard disk state indicator lamp is controlled; when the hard disk is an NVME hard disk, I2C signals sent by the NVME controller are analyzed, and the second hard disk state indicator lamp is controlled.
