Problems solved by technology

[0007] The problem in connected lighting is that devices that belong to the lighting network and thus can be part of the scene may become unreachable
[0013] In some cases, the light may appear to be unreachable even though it is in range and powered on; this may be caused by an internal fault in the device that temporarily or permanently disables the device's ability to communicate and therefore cannot be changed its lighting setup
For example, a light that has had its internal software updated with errors (i.e., "bugs") may still be in range from a wireless standpoint, may be powered by mains or battery power, but may be in a state from which it cannot jump out. in an endless software reset loop, so it ignores all incoming commands from the network

Embodiment Construction

[0047] Some embodiments of the invention provide scenarios based on one or more missing, or otherwise uncontrollable, network elements (e.g., lamps, luminaires, control or relay components, etc.) in a lighting network of a controlled lighting system Adapted to the ambience, the network element causes one or more lights to become "stuck" on whatever light output mode they were configured to when they became unavailable.

[0048] Other embodiments provide for this when the network element is not uncontrollable as such, but is still disruptive, for example due to user(s) imposing conflicting lighting requirements on the system (i.e. they are somehow incompatible) adaptation.

[0049] Different mechanisms are provided by which the system can correct and update known lighting configurations based on its knowledge of node reachability to provide the user with a lighting configuration as close as possible (in terms of ambiance creation or other factors) to the desired Experience the...

Abstract

A lighting system comprising one or more luminaires for illuminating an environment, each luminaire comprising at least one lamp controllable to emit configurable illumination. A set of configuration data (20') is retrieved from memory for groups of one or more lights in the lights in the lighting system, the set of configuration data defining the initial lighting scene. Detecting when at least one of the lamps in the lighting system emits lighting that would disrupt the initial lighting scene, and determining at least one characteristic of the destructive lighting. The set of configuration data is modified to account for the destructive lighting based on the determined characteristics. One or more lights of the set are controlled via the control interface to render a modified lighting scene defined by the modified set.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to controlling a lighting system comprising one or more luminaires, each luminaire comprising at least one lamp, and in particular to controlling a group of lamps to render a lighting scene. Background technique [0002] In recent years, LED-based lighting solutions have been developed. These solutions can provide additional features over those of traditional lighting (eg incandescent, CFL) technologies. These additional technical features include, inter alia, the possibility to tune the color temperature (eg from warm white to cool white) and / or to create large color gamuts. For example, the Philips Hue range takes care of both options: temperature tuning from 2200K to 6500K and around 16 million possible color combinations. [0003] One of the main drivers of this development was to allow customers to go beyond the usual use of lighting (fixed brightness or dimmable brightness) and use these lights for so-called mood settings:...
