Abstract

The method is based on an object measurement device comprising a back plate, a camera in the object measurement device can collect depth images of the back plate and a measured object, the method fits a back plate plane according to the point cloud data of the depth images, the point cloud data of the measured object is determined from the point cloud data of the depth images, and a distance between the point cloud data and the back plate plane is calculated to determine the dimension of the measured object in the relativedirection relative to the back plate plane. Compared to a current measurement method, in the method, the dimension of the measured object is measured by taking the back plate plane as a reference, theerrors of the dimension of the measured object are mainly determined by the shooting errors of the camera to improve the accuracy of the dimension measurement result.
