The invention provides a system of bidirectional time-of-flight and communications based on wireless pulse radio-frequency signals. The system is characterized by comprising a UWB (ultrawide band) device and ranging devices, wherein a wireless pulse radio-frequency signal device is used for communicating via wireless pulse radio-frequency signals and performing ranging in bidirectional time-of-flight manner; the ranging devices and the wireless pulse radio-frequency signal device are provided; one ranging device includes a processor, a transceiver, an antenna, and an ID (identity) register; another ranging device also includes a processor, a transceiver, an antenna, a setting module, an ID register and a communication interface, wherein the processor is used for processing data; the transceiver is connected with the processor; the transceiver is also connected with the antenna; the transceiver is used for outputting a ranging request via the antenna; ranging requests from other rangingdevices are received too through the antenna; the antenna is used for transmitting the data; the ID register is a nonvolatile memory to store the ID numbers of all ranging devices.
