Abstract

According to the embodiment of the invention, the backlight device is composed of a light source, a light guide plate and a plastic frame. The light source is used for emitting light to the light guide plate and is arranged at one end, being opposite to the lateral surface of the light guide plate, of the light guide plate. The plastic frame is at least arranged at one end, away from the light source, of the light guide plate. A plurality of toothed recesses are arranged at one end, away from the light source, of the upper surface of the light guide plate. According to the backlight device provided by the embodiment of the invention, because of multiple toothed recesses arranged at one side, approaching the plastic frame, of the light guide plate, light reflected by the side wall of the plastic frame is refracted or reflected and thus the light is emitted from the upper surface of the light guide plate or to the lower surface of the light guide plate, so that light leakage from the space between the light guide plate and the plastic frame and thus light edge leakage and shining problems of the backlight device are solved.
