Problems solved by technology

[0006] In the example of a DSDS device with a 3GT-3GF RAT combination, when the segment / SIB repetition factor is the same as the 3GT Discontinuous Reception (DRX) cycle or a multiple of the 3GT DRX cycle, it is possible for the 3GT PICH to be associated with the 3GF System Information Block (SIB ) segment conflict

Abstract

Methods and systems for processing paging requests in an electronic device can be provided. For example, a method can be provided, comprising: detecting a paging indicator channel (PICH) of a first subscriber identity module (SIM) included in an electronic device; determining at least one of: an ongoing data operation on at least one of the SIM included in the electronic device, and a collision between the paging channel (PCH) of the at least one SIM and the PICH of the first SIM; and skipping decoding of the PICH of the first SIM based on the determined result.

Description

technical field [0001] Example embodiments relate to electronic devices, and more particularly, to methods for handling paging requests in dual-SIM dual-standby (DSDS) devices. Background technique [0002] Multiple Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) wireless devices have become popular due to their flexibility in service options and other features. One type of multi-SIM wireless device is a dual-SIM dual-standby (DSDS) device, which places both SIMs in idle mode waiting to initiate communication, but only allows one SIM to participate at a time due to the sharing of a single radio frequency (RF) resource Active Communications. [0003] figure 1 is a timing diagram showing the RF usage of a third generation (3G) time division duplex (TDD) SIM (hereinafter referred to as 3GT SIM) and a 2G SIM of a DSDS device. In the case of DSDS devices, the data throughput directly depends on the availability of RF resources between 3GT SIM and 2G SIM. In case the first SIM is 3GT and is ...
