Abstract

A lightweight and high strength insulating compressor component formed via additive manufacturing is provided. The component may have at least one interior region comprising a lattice structure having a plurality of repeating unit cells. Solid surfaces are provided on the lattice structure. The interior region comprising a lattice structure minimizes or reduces transmission of at least one of thermal energy, sound or vibration energy in the component. A method of manufacturing such a compressor component via an additive manufacturing process is also provided.
